East Haddon Playing Field was given to the village in February 1950. Since then the facilities have developed into the smart recreational field that it is today.
The Field boasts a varied selection of children’s play equipment, a tennis court, a cricket square and a practise net, a tennis practise wall with basketball ring and a football pitch.
The current pavilion was built in 1997 and offers changing facilities for home and away teams, kitchen, bar and a cosy social area with oak veranda.
An active committee regularly fund raises and manages the field and pavilion. Events include the annual Bonfire and Fireworks Night, Comedy Night, End of Summer Ball, Boxing Day Family Football Match, Family Fun Run/Walk, Raffles, BBQ evenings and Curry Nights.
The pavilion is available for hire for parties, family events, classes, meetings etc.
Currently we have Youth Club, Spanish classes, sewing classes and keep fit classes being held regularly in the building and twice a week there is an outdoor fitness class as well.
East Haddon Tennis Court – this is available to use via an annual subscription or you can pay as you play. The court is an acrylic painted tarmac and is in a sheltered spot. We have in the past offered coaching for children during the summer.
East Haddon Football – currently we don’t have a team playing regularly but the posts are up for anyone who wishes to have a kick around.
East Haddon Cricket Club – A very active club that has 2 teams in the Northants Cricket League and has a friendly Sunday side as well. Children’s coaching is a large part of the club taking place on Friday nights when the bar is also open.
