Reports of Distraction Burglary

Neighbourhood Watch have had reports that there are people going door to door selling cloths and other sundry items, and some have claimed that this is on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch.

Neighbourhood Watch in Northants do not do this, and do not support any organisations doing this on our behalf.

This is a tactic often used in Distraction Burglary. and Neighbourhood Watch have reports of these people also gaining access to property.

These incidents have been reported to the Police.

If you believe that a cold caller is not genuine, then please call the police on 999 as this is a potential crime in progress.

Please warn your neighbours, especially the more vulnerable members of your community.
